We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing financial processes related to cost analysis, budgeting, inventory management, and ERP implementation.

Essential Job Functions
- Conduct in-depth cost analysis to evaluate the production and operational expenses associated with cannabis cultivation, processing, and distribution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data on direct and indirect costs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and manage budgeting processes, providing insights to support informed financial decisions.
- Collaborate with department heads to create accurate and realistic financial forecasts based on market trends and business objectives.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to monitor the movement of cannabis products.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to inventory tracking and reporting.
- Lead the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, working closely with IT and other relevant departments.
- Ensure seamless integration of cost accounting processes into the ERP system, optimizing efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform regular variance analysis to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
- Investigate and provide explanations for significant variances, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting procedures.
- Work closely with operational teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports related to cost accounting, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Present financial data to management in a clear and concise manner, facilitating strategic decision-making.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably within the cannabis industry or a similar regulated environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems implementation preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Adaptability to evolving industry regulations and market conditions.
